Its functional performance was verified, and the reactor was proved to be capable of operating as designed. This signaled the completion of reactor tests, with commercial operation being only a few steps away. Representatives of Russian regulator Rostechnadzor will inspect the reactor and give a final opinion on the unit’s compliance with the design. If the opinion is positive, Rosatom will obtain a permit to put the reactor in commercial operation. All the activities are scheduled to be completed by the end of September.
